. . .How about your character . . .
Name: Adrianna "Adri" Tallen
Age: 17
Race: Human
Gender: Female
. . .Tell us more about your character . . .
Character Personality:
Adri is a very boisterous teenager with a thirst for knowledge. Her love of new things, or neophilia, and her willingness to try anything once have both contributed heavily in her decision to apply for Keyblade Academy. She is loyal to anyone that she qualifies as a friend and believes in the benefit of the doubt.
Character Appearance:
Adrianna may be small, but don't underestimate her! Her diminutive stature often fools people into a false sense of power and she certainly uses the fact to her advantage. At only 5'6" and 103lbs, Adri can still pack a hell of a punch! Red is her favorite color and nearly dominates her wardrobe. She keeps her hair short so that it won't be in her way while reading or in combat.
Character Interests:
Adri is interested in...well, everything! She thirsts for all the knowledge that she can get and wants to see as many worlds as possible.
. . .Defend Yourself . . .
Character Alignment: Heroine
Character Abilities:
Blazing Fury
As Adrianna's temper rises and she takes more damage, the strength of her attacks increases. When her health hits a critical level, it allows her to release an inferno that surrounds her body. These flames can only last for a few minutes, though they function both as an attack and defense as they keep enemies from approaching. Can be done only once per thread.
Mirage
Replicas of Adri appear to confuse her enemies. They disperse once hit with an attack. This technique takes a variant level of energy to complete, based on the number of replicas created. Only 20 replicas can be made per day.
Character Weapon:
Adrianna never goes anywhere without her favorite weapon - a collapsible staff. At its shortest, only six inches long and one inch in diameter, she can easily hide her staff up her sleeve where she can easily slide it into her palm with a flick of her wrist. At its longest, however, it stands at a good six feet long - perfect for keeping enemies at a slight distance in combat. It is a simple steel thing with four inches of brass plating on both ends.
Character Accessories:
Defense Anklet
Slightly increases the wearer's defense against physical attack.
Character Strengths: Speed, bravery
Character Weaknesses: Short temper, little patience
. . . How did your character come to be . . .
Home World: The World that Never Was
Character History:
~ A dark figure moved down a long hallway, shoes clicking on the cold stone floors. Doors passed, so very many doors, before the figure turned toward a door on the left. The heavy doors swung open unbidden and allowed the eerie blue light within to spill into the hall. The illumination revealed nothing more than a long black coat and black boots, the stranger's face shadowed by a hood.
He, for the intruder was male, walked forward into the room. Strange tubes and shelves, supporting containers with unusual chemicals, covered the walls and books and papers covered what few tables there were. The far wall was dominated from floor to ceiling by eight cylinders, each one easily as wide as a large adult. The first tank on the left was broken, and the rest were empty. Empty except for the second to last, that is. A body was suspended in liquid within, IVs hooked to the form's extremities, and a white cloth floated covering it from chest to thigh.
The hooded man approached the table in front of the cylinders and sifted through the files there until he found the correct one. Flipping through the papers within, he nodded once before setting it back down, open, and walked to the machines that kept the tank regulated. He punched a numerical code into the keypad before pulling a small lever on the face of the electronics. A light came on at the top of the occupied tank and the liquid began draining, the wires disconnecting from the body as it sank to the base of the container. It was then obvious that the form was female.
The hooded figure pressed another switch on the console, raising the thick glass up into a ceiling compartment and allowing the last of the liquid to cascade onto the floor. After the fluids fully drained, the girl took a shuddering gasp - her first breath - and began to cough. When she could finally breathe properly, she pushed herself up on shaky arms and looked around herself in confusion. Spotting the man, not four feet away from her, she felt no fear. Only...curiosity.
"What is this place?" she asked the hooded figure, her voice emotionless.
'This,' he began slowly, 'is the place where you were created, the World that Never Was.'
"Created? Then...who am I?"
'Yes, created. Created and abandoned. You are...nobody.'
"That's wrong. I have to be somebody. Everyone is somebody." she said, her head bowed to look at the ground beneath her.
'Why do you think that? You've only just been woken.'
"I just know. Who am I?" she asked again, now looking up at the man with her eyebrows drawn together.
'Nobody, yet, you stupid girl. I told you that already.'
"How...do I become somebody, then?"
At this, the hooded figure moved toward her and bent to whisper in her ear, "Live." before disappearing into shadow.
The girl gathered her strength and stood, looking for the hooded man but seeing no one. She moved shakily and walked down to the table. Propping herself up on it, she saw a folder on it, opened to a photo of the tank she had just been released from, her body still floating in the image. The paper it was attached to had writing on it.
Codename: Adrianna
"Adrianna? Is that...me?"
The girl, newly born and named, left. Her life lead her through many worlds and many adventures - but that is a story for another day.
Sample Post:
A pair of black sneakers pounded down the stairs and a hand easily slid down the railing as one of the students sprinted to get to her next class.
"So late!" she began saying to herself, "So so SO late! Ah, how could I have overslept? Today, of all days-"
Adrianna tripped into her class, crashing into her teacher in the process. "Ah, sorry!"
